Research Focus

Continuum Mechanics, Multiscale mechanics, Computational Mechanics, Numerical methods

I work on modeling slender structures such as rods and plates and further developing efficient numerical methods for their simulation. Some of the key topics that I have worked on are the following: continuum modeling of rod-like nanostructures, development of theories for magnetically and electrically active rods, elastoplasticity of rods, locomotion of slender bodies in fluid media, rod models for slender metamaterials.
