Ana Smaranda Sandu Awarded Gitner Prize

Ph.D. candidate Ana Smaranda Sandu has been honored by the College of Arts & Sciences with the 2020 Deanne Gebell Gitner ’66 and Family Annual Prize for Teaching Assistants. The prize is awarded to TAs who have demonstrated their devotion to undergraduate teaching — including classroom presence, course preparation and administration, student counseling, and, where applicable, development of new courses and new methods of student instruction. In addition to the math classes she has taught, this spring Smaranda has been teaching a First Year Writing Seminar that she designed: Chance/Choice/Change: A Mathematical Perspective.

Congratulations Smaranda!
