Dynamical systems

Research Statement: I study applied and theoretical problems across dynamical systems, with a special emphasis on the geometric invariants of multiple timescale (slow-fast) systems and coupled oscillator systems. I've studied mixed-mode oscillations in chemical systems and invariant manifolds in high-dimensional models of oscillator glass

  • Tangency bifurcation of invariant manifolds in a slow-fast system, in progress. Online preprint at arXiv:1512.04641.
  • Shilnikov homoclinic bifurcation of mixed-mode oscillations (with J. Guckenheimer). SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems, 14(2), 764-786 (2015)
  • Phase diagram for the Kuramoto model with van Hemmen interactions (with I. Kloumann and S. Strogatz). Physical Review E 89, 012904 (2014)
  • Extreme orbital evolution from hierarchical secular coupling of two giant planets (with J. Teyssandier, S. Naoz, and F. Rasio). ApJ 779 166 (2013)
